Jhene Erwin is a Toronto based filmmaker and actor whose award-winning work has screened at festivals internationally including, the Boston Film Festival, PBS Online Film Festival and INPUT El Salvador. Seattle’s PBS affiliate KCTS as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation website have also featured her films. She is a recipient of a grant from Canada Council for the Arts for her feature-length documentary, The Undeserving Widow.
Since earning a BFA in Acting from Ryerson University, Erwin has played both staring and supporting roles in various films and television series including, The Comey Rule, Tallboyz, Jett, The House I Keep, Jupiter's Legacy and Psych. With glowing reviews in Variety, Cineaction Magazine and the Toronto Star, Erwin played the lead in the feature film The Fishing Trip, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. She was also a regular, playing Bess Marvin on the New Line television series Nancy Drew.
Jhene is a published poet (Onyx Anthology of Spoken Word) whose writing landed her a demo deal with EMI London.
